At the time the Sheriff’s dogs were rescued, Misty was very malnourished – tied to a dog house on a short chain. She also had one very young pup with her. Her teeth were broken and damaged from chewing on the chain to escape. She was adopted by Jim Cook in Vancouver who describes her:
She is a sweet girl who even had that look on her face when she was being rehabilitated at Turtle Gardens Animal Rescue. She has a fear of gunshots or fireworks and will try to run and hide if she hears them. We have learned to adapt to this issue and she now enjoys a wonderful life with walks every day with her dog friends at the off leash dog parks.
Misty so rarely barks I have only heard her about six times in four years, and then usually only when she is frustrated by a squirrel that she was not allowed to chase.
